Philadelphia, PA (TSN) – Monica Seles, winner of nine Grand Slam singles titles and the world’s sixth-ranked player, has entered to compete in the 1998 Advanta Championships.
Seven of the world’s top ten women’s players will be participating in the tournament which takes place at the Pavilion at Villanova University, from November 9-15.
The rest of the field includes 1998 Wimbledon champion Jana Novotna, 1998 French Open titlist Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, Lindsay Davenport the worlds’ number-one ranked player and 1998 U.S. Open champion, Australian Open champion and defending Advanta champion Martina Hingis and seven-time Wimbledon winner Steffi Graf.
Other notables in this year’s draw include: Patty Schnyder, Nathalie Tauziat, Serena Williams, Anke Huber, Ruxandra Dragomir, Irina Spirlea, Brenda Schultz-McCarthy, Jennifer Capriati, Lisa Raymond and Amy Frazier.
The winner of the tournament will take home $79,000.
